EXTRAGONADAL GERM CELL TUMORS

When germ cell in body become cancerous and start grown abnormally other than gonads germ cell called as extragonadal germ cell

Extra gonadal germ cell tumors include:

—Brain (pineal gland)
  — Media sternum
  — Retro peritoneum

Extra gonadal germ cell tumor can be benign or malignant in nature

CAUSES OF EXTRAGONADAL GERM CELL TUMOR:

    The exact cause what leads to mutations of DNA in germ cell is not known

    Benign extra gonadal tumor is known as tetratomas 

    Malignant extra gonadal tumor is also known as seminoma and non seminoma

      Risk factor:

1. Person with genetic syndrome i.e klinefelter at higher risk
2. Male are at higher risk then female
3. Age above 20 or more at higher risk then younger one.

SYMPTOMS OF EXTRAGONADAL GERM CELL TUMORS:

    Symptoms depend upon which part of body germ cell affected

    Commonly seen symptoms according to part involved are:

   In Brain:-  

1. Headache
2. Trouble walking
3. Eye sight Diminished, movement of eye disturbed

   In Media sternum :-

1. Cough
2. Breathing Trouble
3. Chest pain
4. Pressure, oppression on the chest region

    In Abdomen:-  

1. Bowel habits disturbed
