ATYPICAL/ RHABDOID TUMOR
It is tumor of C.N.S. It located anywhere in spinal cord and brain stem.
It mostly seen in children of age group 3 and younger, but it can also occur in adult
It is very rare, but very fast growing tumors, it also spread to other part of C.N.S through C.S.F
Boys /girls are equally affected with these tumors
Rhabdoid tumors grow in kidney and other soft tissues when it involve/ grow in brain its called ATRT
CAUSE OF ATRT
ATRT tumors grown is associated with mutation of INI1gene it can occur spontaneously or inherited
All the cases of ATRT 90% are not inherited
ATYPICAL/ RHABDOID TUMOR SYMPTOMS
- Headache early morning
- Lethargy , weakness, easily fatigue
- Hydrocephalus- fluid buildup in brain
- Nausea, vomiting worse Morning
- Trouble in walking , coordination
