Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and a number of people all over the
world are suffering from this.  It happens when the protective cartilage that helps to
protect the ends of the bones wears down over time. Although osteoarthritis  can damage any joint. Osteoarthritis most commonly affects joints of the hand, knee, hips and spine. *Grating sensation:- may feel a grinding sensation when the joint is used, then popping and crackling sound heard.

Osteoarthritis CAUSES:- 

It occurs when the cartilage that protects the ends of bones in joints gradually degenerates. Cartilage is a hard, slimy tissue that enables nearly frictionless joint motion. After some time, if the cartilage breaks down completely, bone will rub on bone.

Age:- the risk of osteoarthritis increases with time . mainly affects the older age.

Sex – females are more likely to develop osteoarthritis as compared to male.

Obesity:- Carrying overweight contributes to osteoarthritis in many ways, and more

Hereditary :- some people inherit a tendency to produce osteoarthritis.

Bone deformities:-  people with malformed joints or defective cartilage.
