Shoulder Pain
INTRODUCTION:- Several nearby muscles, ligaments, and tendons as well as
the shoulder joint itself can all cause shoulder pain. When an arm or shoulder is
used or moved, shoulder pain that originates from the joint typically gets worse.
The most frequent joint musculoskeletal issue is shoulder pain.
Sometimes shoulder pain might be confused for pain arising from other medical
conditions, such as liver or heart disease, cervical spine conditions, etc.
Shoulder pain that arises from other structures is called referred pain.

CAUSES:- there are many reasons for shoulder pain. Some common causes
are:-
BURSITIS RESULTING IN SHOULDER PAIN:- It is one of the common
reasons for shoulder pain. It is an inflammation of the fluid filled sac
(bursa) that lies between a tendon and skin, or between a tendon and
bone.
SHOULDER ARTHRITIS:- arthritis can affect any joint. So, it is also a
common reason for shoulder pain.
SHOULDER PAIN DUE TO ROTATOR CUFF DAMAGE.
SHOULDER PAIN FROM A SPORTS INJURY.
FROZEN SHOULDER:- it is a condition where it causes stiffness of the
joint.
CALCIFIC TENDINITIS:- is a result of calcium deposits within the tendons
and can cause pain in the shoulder.
SHOULDER INSTABILITY:-joint loosening as a result of trauma-induced
dislocation
SHOULDER DISLOCATION:- It is a condition that occurs when the top of
the humerus is disconnected from the scapula.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS:-
Joint pain.
Tenderness around the joint.
Achiness upon movement of the joint.
Swelling over the joint.
Stiffness.
Difficulty in using the arm.
Trauma causing deformity of the joint.
Shoulder pain at rest.
Persistent shoulder pain.
Inability to raise the arm.
Bruising around the shoulder joint.
Signs of infection such as fever, redness.
Weakness etc.

INVESTIGATIONS:-
X- RAY
ARTHROGRAM.
MRI.
PREVENTION:-
Bad posture or working habits, such as slouching at a desk, can make shoulder
problems worse.
So, when you are sitting down try to avoid leaning forward and resting on
your arms too much.
Try to relax your shoulders.
Sit in an upright position.
Change the position often.
Lying on the good side with a pillow under the neck.
HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT:-
- BELLADONNA :-
Bursitis with a feeling of warmth and trembling, along with severe pain.
The area becomes red and swelling. - ARNICA MONTANA:-
It is given when bursitis is linked to severe trauma or discomfort. The
affected region appears to be red and painful.
Numbness of arms.
Pain in back of arms.
Sensitivity to touch.
Soreness of shoulder with overexertion.a sensation of dislocation or sprain
in the shoulder. - KALMIA:-
Pain that starts in the shoulder and spreads downwards.
bursitis in the right shoulder.
Pain that increases with movement.
Pain that gets worse during nights and in the mornings. - RHUS TOX:-
The pain may vary that can be tearing, shooting, stitching or burning type.
Stiffness, swelling and cracking in the shoulder joint.
The most important feature to use it is shoulder pain which gets worse at
rest and better by movement.
Overstraining, overstressing of muscles or tendons, inflamed tendons and
joint inflammation. - BRYONIA:-
The pain gets worse with the slightest movement.
Resting helps ease the pain.
The shoulder can also appear shiny-red and swollen.
There may be a tightness sensation in the shoulder.
The pain starts from the shoulder extends down 5the arm.
