EMBRYONAL TUMORS
Abnormal, uncontrolled growth of cell in brain form embryonal tumors.
These growth involves cells that left over while fetal development happens in the womb, these remaining enbroyonal cell are harmless until it become cancerous called as embroyal cell
It is malignant type of tumors growth
Embryonal Tumors mostly develop in children at young age but it can be seen in any age group.
CAUSES OF EMBRYONAL TUMOR:
Normally these cell are harmless and remain in brain but sometime it become cancerous and grow out of control and form tumors there. The cause of development of enbryonal tumor are still not known.
Some inheritants conditions increase tendency of development of this cancer:-
- Rubinstein- tayybi syndrome
- Nevoid basal cell
- Li- Fraumeni syndrome etc
SYMPTOMS OF EMBRYONAL TUMORS
Some common symptoms are:
- Headache
- Dizziness, Weakness
- Double vision
- Weight loss
- Nausea, vomiting
- Seizures
- Easily tired
DIAGNOSIS OF EMBRYONAL TUMORS:
- Physical Examination
- Nervous system examination
- CT-scan
- MRI
- Blood test
- Biopsy
- Lumber puncture
EMBROYNAL TUMORS INCLUDES:
- Medulloblastoma
- Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor
- Embryonal tumors with multilayered rosettes, C19MC- altered
- Medulloepithelioma
- CNS neuroblastoma
- CNS ganglio neuroblastoma
- Embroyonal tumors with multilayered,NOS
From all above embroyonal tumors, medulloblastoma is most common embroyal tumors.
